Message from the Director of Development and Fundraising

There is a popular saying that goes, “Build it and they will come”.

As the Director of Development and Fundraising for The Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center, I would like to rephrase and say, “Now it is built…..we invite you to come and enjoy the experience.

We would never be here today if it were not for the vision, commitment and passion of so many people. From a generous group of Founders, our sponsor – Chartis, Board members, staff, donors and volunteers, all with a shared vision that Stowe needed a venue to gather and to celebrate the performing arts. Thank you to all of those who have made that dream a reality.

But a theatre is something that goes far beyond bricks and mortar. The heart of the theatre exists in the magic that happens when artists and audiences come together. Our inaugural season included music that fed your souls, theatre that challenged your mind, and dance that lifted your spirits.

There are many ways that you can help us keep offering exceptional entertainment and educational opportunities here at the Arts Center.  Only a small portion of the revenue needed to operate the Center comes from ticket sales.  The vast majority of funding must come in the form of donations, sponsorships, memberships, grants and leadership gifts.  We ask you to please take a little time to review the many opportunities you have to make a difference.  Each and every one of us who are passionate about the arts has the opportunity to give at whatever level they can.  Every dollar counts and is deeply appreciated.

When you read about our offerings, I hope you will be inspired to come to the theater and then come again many times throughout the season. Whatever your interest, we have something for everyone.

So to each and every one of you, we invite you to come and be part of this magic. Join us in this extraordinary year and be a part of Supporting the Exceptional.

Sincerely,

Nancy Jeffries-Dwyer
Director of Development and Fundraising
