Reporting to the Executive Director, the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center (SPPAC) Director of Marketing will develop and execute successful marketing programs to promote awareness and drive revenues for performances in the disciplines of theater, dance, music, film, comedy, family performances, lectures, and festivals. The marketing director also provides and implements marketing strategies for the Spruce Peak Chamber Music Society, Mountainfilm on Tour and associated screenings, Spruce Peak Folk Festival, as well as the SPPAC’s education programs and development initiatives.
Duties And Responsibilities
Determine, facilitate, and execute a marketing plan that maximizes ROI for all marketing activities and meets and exceeds budgeted revenue goals.
Work closely with programming and guest services staff to develop, support, and manage integrated launch plans and all subsequent campaign elements including revenue management.
Initiate and utilize marketing analytics and audience insights on audience development practices, budget preparation, and revenue management strategies.
Management all Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center social media outlets and presence of SPPAC on regional, state, and national calendar listings
Oversee and manage the development of marketing materials including all aspects from design to production for video, print, digital, brochures, e-mail communications, presentation, that support programming and development initiatives.
Support maintenance and lead development of the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center’s branding, visual identity guidelines, and messaging in partnership with the Executive Director.
Ensure that content published on the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center web site and other electronic/digital platforms is up-to-date, compelling, engaging, and developed with the User Experience in mind.
Media Relations: Create and edit copy for press releases. Generate editorial coverage and community awareness by cultivating relationships with local and regional media.
Maintain marketing calendar ensuring that SPPAC marketing activity is planned and executed well in advance (3 to 6 weeks out) to allow for proactive response to opportunities as they emerge.
Manages all marketing vendors, freelancers, and volunteers.
This position requires 5+ years of experience in marketing/advertising with a minimum of 3+ years of leadership experience, preferably in the arts and entertainment industry. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, marketing or related field strongly preferred.
Minimum Skills And/or Knowledge Required
- A superior understanding of arts marketing practices including but not limited to pricing, creative strategies, digital strategies, and the full marketing mix.
- Highly organized, goal oriented self-starter with a demonstrated willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Team player with strong ability to execute work in a highly goal and results oriented environment.
- Proven record of creating, executing, managing, and reporting on integrated marketing campaigns.
- Excellent budget management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in brand management.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) and ability to work at all levels, confident and articulate.
This is a full-time salaried position with night-time and weekend work depending on performance schedule.
