Two all-star bands join forces for this compelling and exciting evening of bluegrass. The Sky Blue Boys – Banjo Dan and Willy Lindner – present a lively blend of traditional, early country, gospel, instrumentals, Civil War songs and originals. Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing embodies the full-bore sound of today’s bluegrass with wonderfully blended vocals and instrumental pyrotechnics emphasizing Bob’s award-winning originals and the stirring vocals of daughter Sarah. The concert’s climax is a no-holds-barred jam featuring all the musicians.
Dan and Willy Lindner, The Sky Blue Boys, keep that tradition alive. And fresh. Like their mentors – the Monroe Brothers, the Delmore Brothers, and Bill and Earl Bolick (the Blue Sky Boys) – Dan and Willy have built up a large repertoire of wonderful old ballads, parlor songs, heart songs, and sacred numbers that still, in the 21st century, tell timeless truths. Both of them songwriters, the Sky Blue Boys also deliver their own material, and expand on the traditional instrumentation to incorporate a rich array of acoustic sounds. Their shows are packed with variety, energy, and fun.
Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing features Bob on banjo, guitar and vocals, Sarah Amos on vocals, Freeman Corey on fiddle, Bob Dick (formerly of Front Range) on bass, Gary Darling on mandolin and Steve Wright on guitar. Chris Cruger will be on bass for select shows. The band puts on a very entertaining high energy show, with stellar vocals, terrific original material, plus some great new interpretations of some bluegrass classics.
