Spruce Peak Chamber Music Society

Why Chamber Music?

Chamber Music is the most versatile and personal form of music. With anywhere from two to nine players, one person to a part, it is a true musical conversation and democracy. Chamber Music is, in literal terms, music played in a “chamber”. The intimacy of the setting allows for a direct connection between the audience and musicians. The wide range of repertoire and the plethora of stories and emotion the music conveys ensures the enduring relevance of this style of classical music performance.

Season Two Dates

Sunday, October 13, 7pm – Occupied Berlin
Saturday January 18, 7pm – Beethoven’s 250th
Sunday, February 16, 7pm – Intimate Letters
Saturday, March 28, 7pm – Voices of Women

Cultivating musicians and appreciation of the art is a core part of each residency. Chamber Music Society outreach includes offering free programs to area schools to expose students to chamber music through school assemblies, music-class workshops, and orchestra/band ensemble visits. Adults have a chance to connect through the ArtSmart lecture series with Artistic Director Jia Kim; the series provides insight into the musical selections, composers, and musicians that are part of the upcoming public performances. Through careful planning and programming, we ensure that the amazing talents who perform here provide wonderful experiences for us and our region, often for people who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy such music.
