Music in the Meadow Returns for the Summer, Continuing a Beloved Stowe Tradition
Stowe, VT — A cherished part of summer in Stowe is returning to the meadow
Music in the Meadow, the long-running outdoor concert series held on the grounds of von Trapp Family Lodge + Resort, will continue this summer, preserving a tradition that has brought neighbors, families, and visitors together for decades.
For generations, Music in the Meadow has been a place where blankets are spread, children dance freely, and the community gathers to enjoy live music against Vermont’s mountain backdrop. As the series moves into a new season, its spirit remains unchanged: relaxed, welcoming, accessible, and rooted in place.
“Music in the Meadow has always been about gathering with friends and family with food and exceptional music in a gorgeous setting” says Kristina von Trapp Frame, “We are thrilled to continue the tradition with Spruce Peak Arts.”
This season, Spruce Peak Arts, an independent nonprofit performing arts organization, will serve as steward of Music in the Meadow, ensuring the series remains accessible and true to its original purpose while providing the support needed to keep it thriving for years to come. The role is a supportive one—focused on continuity, care, and sustainability—rather than reinvention.
“Music in the Meadow doesn’t need to be reimagined,” said Seth Soloway, Executive Director of Spruce Peak Arts. “It needs to be protected. Our goal is simple: to help keep a much-loved Stowe tradition alive and available to the community.”
Concerts will continue to take place in the open meadow setting and are designed for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, picnics, friends, and to arrive casually and comfortably.
