There’s a Fantastique Story waiting to be told by the Vermont Youth Orchestra (VYO), as they kick off their 58th season with Spruce Peak. Comprised of some of our region’s most talented musicians, the VYO will perform exciting repertoire like Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique and Bremer’s Early Light, with a special Senior Soloist performance by Colchester High’s Logan Crocker, to perform Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 1 in G, mvt. 1.

Chosen as a nod to the organization’s founding and journey, the repertoire takes the audience through emotions of tenderness, beauty and joy. Much like Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, the VYO has evolved through many movements, and, during this 58th season, retells the story of their beginning while celebrating growth.

Vermont Youth Orchestra Association (VYOA) Music Director, Dr. Mark Alpizar, whose first season with the organization was entirely virtual, will be making his debut across Vermont’s performing arts venues this year.
