Elan Ballet Theatre proudly presents La Fille Mal Gardee, Tarantella, and Artiste! Elan brings a new spin to the original ballet La Fille Mal Gardee, in which the Widow Simone tries to marry off her strong-willed daughter Lisette to the Vineyard Owner’s son Thomas. The perfect ballet for a Vermont summer, this comedic farm themed ballet has everything from dancing hens to a maypole dance, a clog dance, and plenty of wonderful ballet for the whole family!  Tarantella, set to Gottschalk’s Grand Tarantelle for Piano and Orchestra is a fantastically energetic piece for 13 talented dancers and is sure to have the audience on their feet. Artiste, the Contemporary portion of the program, features dances based on famous visual artists such as Frida Kahlo and Edgar Degas. You won’t want to miss this wonderful and engaging afternoon of dance brought to you by the talented dancers of Elan Ballet Theatre and Elan Academy of Classical Ballet!
