Join us for Jazz At The Peak featuring Aram Bedrosian, Jake Whitesell, Peter Schmeeckle, & Kenny Dunbar, Wednesday, December 28th at 5PM. This group of talented musicians bring the funk in this eclectic improvised journey to the stratosphere & back. Paying special tribute to Latin Jazz legend Joe ‘Timba’ Santiago and the legacy of his music. This series is an intimate, apres alternative you won’t want to miss! 

Tribute to Joe “Timba” Santiago – Santos Ensemble 

Peter Schmeeckle has lived in Stowe, VT since returning home in 2014 to teach snowboarding.  Peter formed the Vermont Jazz Trio in 2020 and has been busy promoting music throughout the pandemic, safely bringing Bill Pierce, Ray Vega, and even blues hall of famer Joe Louis Walker to Stowe.  Active in the jazz scenes of Honolulu, Los Angeles, Seattle, and San Diego, he is an experienced sideman and bandleader and endorses Bosphorus Cymbals.  When not playing drums or snowboarding Peter teaches multiple instruments at Stowe Music Center.

 

Jake Whitesell is a versatile saxophonist & woodwind doubler based in Burlington / Montpelier, VT.  Jake plays soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, doubles on flute and clarinet, and is one of the busiest sidemen in Vermont, playing w/ Kat Wright, George Petit’s Chicken Fat Injection, and currently leading his own quintet, a tribute to the music of Julian “Cannonball” Adderly.  jakewhitesell.com

 

Aram Bedrosian – Born and raised in Burlington, VT, Aram has performed live and recorded w/ various touring acts all over the U.S.  After earning a reputation as a first-class pro bassist, he released his debut album of original unaccompanied solo pieces. It quickly earned glowing reviews and worldwide attention; leading to co-billings with Buckethead, Joe Bonommassa and other world-class artists as well as numerous endorsements.  Aram is a highly sought-after bass instructor in Vermont and worldwide, he is the resident bass faculty member at NVU Johnson, the founder of the Burlington Music Dojo, and a contributor to the Bass Players United online community.  Aram does frequent session work and regularly performs w/ Jon Fishman of Phish.  arambedrosian.com

 

Kenny Dunbar is an elder statesman and longtime veteran of the Vermont music and jazz scenes, having performed with virtually anyone and everyone on the Vermont scene.  He performs regularly in Stowe and Barre on percussion and congas and can be seen sitting in with the Vermont Jazz Trio.
