His guitar wails and cries and his voice is as warm and inviting as a front porch swing on a muggy, Southern night. Tab Benoit is Louisiana’s No.1 roots export. He is a gifted guitarist, a passionate singer and a songwriter with a conscience. Tab combines Delta blues, Chicago blues and soul into his original compositions with stand out singing and guitar playing. Fans and critics alike shower Tab with praise. He’s been nominated for three Grammys and won two Blues Music Awards.
Vermont based musician, Dwight Ritcher, will open the evening. Dwight’s is well known to Vermont audiences, primarily as part of the soul duo, Dwight & Nicole. Dwight is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who started performing early; playing in pit orchestras while still in his teens, and sneaking into bars to play drums with his blues heroes. His love of big band music was cemented during these years as well, playing drums behind his grandfather (a stride style pianist and bandleader). His appearance is made possible through the Olson VT Artist Fund.
